Past & Current Projects

Fisherbridge Case Study

img

The brief for this project was to maximise the development potential of a medium-sized site having been assembled from a vacant piece of land. There was restricted access, overlooking issues, a stream running through the site, adjoining a caravan park and a wooded site.

Following extensive negotiations with planners we were able to obtain planning permission for a multiple unit development with medium level density. This allowed for a variety of detached and semi-detached properties to be constructed utilising local materials but with each unit having its own private space.

As a result of this integrated design and high quality build, the whole of the development was sold at a very early stage in the construction and was fully occupied when the last property was completed.

This property is situated in a stunning location overlooking Weymouth Bay with some of the best views along the South Coast. The brief was to replace an existing bungalow with a cutting edge design providing two modern properties of 3000 ft. This incorporated underground car parking, maximisation of the views further to the front and rear, and retaining privacy for the units.

The resulted design incorporated extensive ground works together with a staggered layout to maximise the location but retain privacy for these prestigious units.

The cutting edge design utilising modern materials and façade of clean fresh elevations with inset glazed panelling and osostenic steel fittings have attracted high levels of interest from potential purchases and developers.

Our brief in this design was to enhance an existing planning permission of construction for two bungalows and refurbishment of bungalow.

After extensive negotiations with the planning authority including a site meeting and including the Local Parish Council, we were able to successfully demonstrate the merits of an uplift in the number of units on site together with the increase in the floor area of the units due to their split level design.

The developer achieved a significant increase in profitability. The result is a tasteful group of split level housing enjoying high level degrees of privacy and spacious interiors.

Our client brief was to achieve an extension to a grade two listed thatched cottage.

After extensive negotiations with the local authority and Parish council including an appeal to the planning inspectorate, we evolved a highly contemporary design incorporating curved laminate wood beams, finished with interlocking sheets of Zinc coated aluminum to achieve a floating roof effect over an oak clad exterior.

The orientation of the large areas of glazing achieved a high level of privacy creating a large open family room and kitchen area.

This is a prestigious part of Weymouth with large detached premises. Our brief was to produce a contemporary design using modern materials but with a traditional finish to fit in with the adjacent properties.

Due to the position of the surrounding buildings and trees there were preservation orders on site. Extensive negotiations were required to achieve this dramatic contemporary design which retains access to the rear of the site for further development but provides spacious modern family living.
